Full Blanket Rental orders placed within “2” weeks prior to your arrival and product availability will not be guaranteed.  All Full Blanket Rental orders must be placed at least “48” hours prior to your arrival! Full Blanket Rental orders placed within “48” hours prior to your arrival you must call our office at 1-843-215-2700 to confirm receipt of your request and product availability. Full Blanket Rental on your arrival day a “Same Day Delivery” fee will be added to your order and must be ordered before 12:00PM. Some orders may be delivered the following day.

Depending on your delivery location on the driver’s route your items may already be delivered when you arrive. Your Full Blanket Rental will be delivered outside your home in a bright lime green bag near an entry door in a dry/secure area. Some property restrict delivery to inside you unit. Full Blanket Rental – Vacation Linen Rentals by Vacation Gear Upon Arrival: Upon arrival renters must inspect all Full Blanket Rental items are in satisfactory condition. Unsatisfactory Full Blanket Rental items must be reported to Vacation Gear Rentals within twenty-four (24) hours of check in time. If unsatisfactory Full Blanket Rental items are not reported within twenty-four (24) hours of check in time items are then deemed satisfactory and the renter will be held liable for any damage found upon pickup w/out prior report to Vacation Gear Rentals.

Effective your arrival day, Vacation Equipment Rentals by Vacation Gear do not offer Refunds. Vacation Equipment Rentals by Vacation Gear will replace your item, offer alternative equipment of a comparable value, or issue a credit for a future rental. Please report all requests for exchanges or additional equipment by 12:00PM to ensure same day service. Requests made after 12:00 PM will be serviced the following day.

At the conclusion of your stay all Full Blanket Rental items should be washed with fresh water after each use and before returning as to remove all corrosive salt and sand from the items. Ocean Competent: Being water competent in the ocean requires stronger and different skills than in a pool. Whenever you are at the beach, ocean, or other open water environment, watch and prepare for changing tides, fast-moving currents, and waves, even in shallow water. Drop-offs that unexpectedly change water depth. Hazards, such as underwater obstacles, rocks, and debris. Vegetation, marine animals, and fish. Other people’s activities in the same waters, such as boating.

Watch for unexpected changes in air or water temperature. Thunder & Lightning. Leave the water immediately, if swimming offshore. If you’re out in a boat, head back to shore as quickly as possible. If you’re unable to get to shore, lie down in the bottom of the boat or shelter in the cabin if available. Enter the water feet first for your safety! Always enter unknown or shallow water cautiously. Only dive in water clearly marked as safe for diving, at least 9 feet deep with no underwater obstacles.

Never dive headfirst into surf! Do not enter the water from a height, such as a bridge or boat. Be careful when standing to prevent being knocked over by currents or waves. Swim sober. Supervise others sober and without distractions, such as reading or talking on or using a cell phone. Swim with a buddy even in life-guarded areas.

Rip currents are powerful, narrow channels of fast-moving water that are prevalent along the East, Gulf, and West coasts of the U.S., as well as along the shores of the Great Lakes. Moving at speeds of up to eight feet per second, rip currents can move faster than an Olympic swimmer. Panicked swimmers often try to counter a rip current by swimming straight back to shore—putting themselves at risk of drowning because of fatigue.

Lifeguards rescue tens of thousands of people from rip currents in the U.S. every year, but it is estimated that 100 people are killed by rip currents annually. If caught in a rip current, don’t fight it! Swim parallel to the shore and swim back to land at an angle.

Rip currents can be hazardous to people in the water. Swimmers who are caught in a rip current and who do not understand what is happening, or who may not have the necessary water skills, may panic, or they may exhaust themselves by trying to swim directly against the flow of water back to shore. A rip current cannot pull a person down and hold them under the water.

A rip simply carries floating objects, including people, out to just beyond the zone of the breaking waves, at which point the current dissipates and releases everything it is carrying. Trying to swim against a rip current will only use up your energy; energy you need to survive and escape the rip current. *Do NOT try to swim directly to shore. Swim along the shoreline until you escape the current’s pull. When free from the pull of the current, swim at an angle away from the current toward shore.

Check conditions before entering the water: are any warning flags up? Ask a lifeguard about water conditions, beach conditions, and potential hazards. While in the water, stay at least 100 feet away from piers and jetties. Permanent rip currents often exist near these structures. If you are caught in a rip current, stay calm and don’t fight it. Swim parallel to the shore until you are out of the current. Then, turn and swim to shore. Alternately, float or tread water until you are free of the rip current and then head to shore.

If you can’t make it to shore, draw attention to yourself by waving and calling for help. If someone is in trouble in the water, get help from a lifeguard. If a lifeguard is not available, have someone call 9-1-1. Throw the victim something that floats – such as a life jacket, cooler or inflatable ball – and yell instructions on how to escape the current. Do not attempt a rescue yourself unless you are a trained beach lifeguard.

It is unlawful, between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 7:30 a.m., for any person to leave upon, put, place, or set any equipment on the public beach, to obstruct, impede or retard the free and unconstrained use and occupancy of the public beach by the public or to interfere or obstruct any maintenance operation of the beach, and any equipment will be disposed of. Removal, disposal. Umbrellas, tents, canopies, or other shading devices and/or other items/equipment remaining on the beach between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. or left unattended will be removed from the beach and disposed of accordingly.

Beach umbrellas and other beach paraphernalia: Shall not be placed in front of the lifeguard stands and shall be placed in a line generally parallel with the ocean strand on either side the lifeguard stands and shall not be left unattended. Umbrellas or other shading devices shall be placed in a location behind the lifeguard stand in such a manner that the lifeguard’s view of the beach shall not be obstructed.

As lifeguards move their stands due to the rising tide, all shading devices shall be moved to the west to maintain the lifeguard’s line of sight. It is unlawful to place any obstruction on the beach in such a position that it will interfere with the ground-level vision of a lifeguard.

Emergency Lane: It is unlawful to place any beach paraphernalia within eight (8) feet of the dune line. This area is to remain open and free of any obstructions to provide a clear travel way for emergency vehicles, personnel and/or other emergency equipment to access the surf or other areas of the beach in the event of an emergency. Emergency access lanes perpendicular to the dune line shall always remain open and unobstructed. In the event of an emergency, the police chief or designee shall direct that additional temporary emergency access lanes be created until no longer needed.

Sand fencing and dune walkovers: Sand fences and dune walkovers have been constructed to rebuild and preserve the sand dunes; sand dunes serve as barriers that aid in protecting life and property during hurricanes and or other tidal events. It is prohibited to move, alter, obstruct, interfere with the sand fencing including, but not limited to, chaining items to, locking items to, or connecting items to a sand fence.

In addition, no items may be placed, put, chained to, locked to, or stored under any dune walkover located on the public beach. The dune line is defined as that area just east of any walkway, step, or crossover. The dune line is not the ‘base of the dunes’ as they now exist.

Holes on the beach: A cubic yard of sand (3′ x 3′ x 3′) can weigh as much as 3,000 pounds – therefore people who are buried in sand cave-ins suffocate. Two feet don’t dig over two (2) feet deep. A hole no deeper than two feet can cause serious injury if someone accidentally steps in it, and if it contains water, it poses a drowning hazard for small children, and a trap for sea turtles.

Sea Turtles, which are an endangered species, get trapped in holes and cannot get out to return to the sea. Baby turtles would die overnight. Town equipment used to clean the beach will be damaged in large holes. So, please, fill in the holes you dig on the beach.

Beach flags warn swimmers of ocean conditions and potential hazards. The flags are part of a system developed by the United States Lifesaving Association and the International Lifesaving Federation

Yellow – Medium hazard. Moderate surf and/or currents are present. Weak swimmers are discouraged from entering the water. For others, enhanced care and caution should be exercised. Yellow Flag/Central Black Ball – Surfboards and other non-powered watercraft are prohibited. Yellow-Halved Red Over Yellow – The area is protected by lifeguards. These flags may be used in pairs spaced apart to indicate a designated area or zone along a beach or waterfront that is most closely supervised or patrolled by qualified lifeguards, and where swimming and/or body surfing is permitted. These flags may be used singly to indicate that swimming is permitted in front of the area where the flag is flown, and that the area is under the supervision of a qualified lifeguard.

Red – High hazard. Rough conditions such as strong surf and/or currents are present. All swimmers are discouraged from entering the water. Those entering the water should take great care. Double Red – Water is closed to public use. Red/White – quartered – Emergency evacuation. Swimmers should leave the water because of an emergency. Emergencies may include, but are not limited to, dangerous marine creatures are present, such as a shark, the water is contaminated, or lifeguards need to perform a search of the water area, for example search for a lost child. (The double red flag may alternatively be appropriate.

Purple – Marine pests, such as jellyfish, stingrays, or other marine life which can cause minor injuries are present in the water. This flag is not intended to indicate the presence of sharks.

Black/White – quartered – Flags may be used in pairs spaced apart to indicate a designated area or zone along a beach or waterfront used by those with surfboards and other non-powered watercraft .

Orange Windsock – This cone shaped device is used to indicate the direction of offshore winds and to show that it is unsafe for inflatable objects to be used in the water.
